For almost 50 years, Galassi has played a big part in the building and landscaping needs of many.

The business, started by Victor J. Galassi with natural stone, running things from a small office (a two car garage with wooden floors), and surrounded by farmland, is today carried on by his son. Paul Galassi, who has been with the company since his teens, understands the building needs of the community.

As the company grew over the years, so did the range of services. The need for structural steel to support the stone was added to the business in 1968. Fireplaces, marble, and granite were added later as the public's demand for such products grew.

In 1990, Galassi added a yard in Mokena, Illinois to better service the development of the southwestern suburbs of Chicago. This Mokena yard is dedicated to the landscaping needs of contractors.

Now, Galassi has come to the needs of all once again, with another location on 191st Street in Mokena offering "one-stop shopping."
